Fast Painting is a new company, and we would rather say that on the About page than have you work it out. There is no gallery of past jobs here and no wall of reviews, because we have not earned them yet.
What we can do on day one is be straight about how a price is built — which, having watched this trade from the inside, is the thing homeowners actually want and almost never get.
We hold the contract
When you accept a quote, your agreement is with Fast Painting. The crew that turns up works under our work order, not their own contract with you. This is called being contractor of record, and it is different from what most “instant quote” websites do.
The difference matters when something goes wrong. A lead-generation site sells your details to three contractors and steps back; if the one you picked disappears in year two, your warranty disappears with them. Because we hold the contract, the warranty is ours to honour. If a crew stops working with us, yours doesn’t lapse.
It also means we carry the risk of choosing badly, which is a useful incentive. We check every crew’s liability and workers compensation cover before they are offered a job, and the system removes anyone whose policy has lapsed — not as a policy we promise to follow, but as a rule in the software that cannot be talked out of it.
Why the price breakdown is public
Your estimate shows the paintable wall surface we calculated, the gallons that implies, and every adjustment with the percentage it added — two-storey staging, condition, trim, colour change, access. You can check our arithmetic.
We do this because the alternative is asking you to trust a stranger’s number, and because a price you can inspect is a price we have to be able to defend. It disciplines us as much as it informs you.
What we won’t do
- Sell your details. Not to three contractors, not to anyone. There is no lead form here pretending to be a quote.
- Send a salesperson. The video walk is three minutes on your own phone. Nobody sits at your kitchen table until you sign.
- Quote a range and invoice the top of it. The firm number is the number.
- Price rot or wide cracks from a photograph. Some things have to be seen, and pretending otherwise is how a quote becomes a change order.
