How can you price my house without seeing it?

Your county publishes the heated area, storey count and construction type of every parcel. That gives us paintable wall surface to within a few percent — the geometry is arithmetic, not judgement. What it can’t tell us is the condition of the paint on the house now, which is why the first number is a range and not a promise.

Why is it a range and not one number?

Because two houses of identical size can be a 30% difference in work depending on what’s on the walls. The range is honest about that. Three minutes on video closes it to one figure, which we then hold for two weeks.

What is the video walk?

We call you, you walk around the outside of your house with your phone camera, we watch. It takes about three minutes. No appointment window, nobody at your door, and no one sitting in your kitchen working out what you’ll pay.

Is the estimate free? Is there any obligation?

Free, and none. You can take the number to another painter — we’d rather you compared it than wondered.

When do I pay?

Nothing when you accept. Half on the morning the crew starts, the rest after you have walked the finished job and signed it off. If you finance it, the schedule may differ and we’ll say so before you agree to anything.

Can I cancel?

Free any time before the crew starts. After that we bill only for materials already bought — your colours, once mixed, are yours.

What does the five-year warranty actually cover?

Peeling, blistering or flaking on anything we prepared and coated. It does not cover fading, which is sunlight rather than workmanship, and it does not cover damage from anything hitting the wall. It transfers once if you sell.

Who actually paints my house?

A crew working under our contract. Your agreement is with Fast Painting, so the warranty is ours to honour rather than theirs to disappear with. We check every crew’s liability and workers compensation cover before offering them a job.

What if you find rot once you start?

We stop and quote it before touching it. It is on your quote from the beginning as an excluded item with the rate written down, so it can’t be used as a surprise. What we will never do is paint over it and let you find out in two years.

Do I need HOA approval?

If you’re changing colour, almost certainly. If you’re repainting the same colours, usually not. We prepare and submit the application either way, and charge nothing for it if none is needed.

What paint do you use?

Professional-grade exterior acrylic, and low-VOC products inside as standard. We’ll tell you the specific product on your quote. If you want a particular brand or line, say so and we’ll price it — the labour is most of the cost either way.

Do I need to be home?

No. Keep your phone on and we’ll text if anything needs a decision. There’s a short list of things to do the evening before — cars off the driveway, side gate unlocked — and that’s the whole of your involvement.

How far ahead do you book?

It varies with the season; Florida summer afternoons cost everyone working days. We give you a start date with the firm quote rather than after you’ve accepted.
